Before Pluto starts its retrograde and leaps back into Capricorn, let’s stop and take note of the events of this past month or so when Pluto left the realm of rules and rigid laws (23 March 2023). Since then we had a taste of freedom and unpredictable chaos but jezzooo how liberating this past month or so has been! Now that Pluto will spend most of the year in retrograde and not coming back to freedom until 20 January 2024, let’s remember to hold onto the hope that came alive in us these past few weeks.
“If we shadows have offended, Think but this, and all is mended, That you have but slumbered here While these visions did appear. And this weak and idle theme, No more yielding but a dream, Gentles, do not reprehend: If you pardon, we will mend.”
These are closing lines of A Midsummer Night’s Dream that always put a smile on my face. It is a story of an enchanted forest with its freedom loving magic tricks and spells, and dreaming humans not knowingly entering the realm of a safe place in pursuit of their hearts’ desires. It is a special place indeed ~ a place where the rules and laws of the outside world place no weight on their shoulders and with the help of a bit of love potion made from a magical flower of course it all ends well.
Well written fiction Mr Shakespeare but how will it help us in the real world? Do we now need to go and find secret potions and spells to live how we really want to live? How do we hold onto our freedom in the coming months of the good old Capricorn routines? Where do we find this magical flower that can make everything right, especially when it feels like winter is coming back into our hearts?
During this past month or so we planted seeds in our hearts and eagerly wished for them to start sprouting. We wished for the dreams to come within reachable distance and for the song in your hearts to start making its voice heard and we might even caught ourselves humming the new melody time to time. Midsummer Night is the celebration of that light that started out as glimmer of hope back in the spring just a few weeks ago.
Spring is the time to fall in love with life again. It is the time to come out of the shadows, say what we mean, voice our feelings, stand up for ourselves and let our voice out and be heard.
The seeds need to break their hard shell before sprouting and let life grow ~ and so do you. You opened up and were open to new opportunities, ways and perspectives. Yes, your old life is going to do its best to test your commitment to your new path but the taste of freedom will always be sweeter than the monotony of any automated old routine.
You have guessed it right, that seed of the magic flower is planted within your heart and it is up to you to let the light in, to let it sprout, to let it grow and flower. Just like our lovers, Hermina and Lysander in Shakespeare’s play, you need to get up and stand up for what you love and what feels right. You need to leave the old behind to enter the new and become the trusted gardener of the flower planted in you so that you can make your own magic happen. You don’t need a magic forest, fairies, spells and potions ~ all you need is to be thirsty for this new life. Have the courage to trust life, hold onto hope and keep the desire alive for that next sip from the cup of the life you are meant to be living..
